The River Thames dissects the city of London
- the South from the North. The view along the
river is like a history lesson. Standing on
Waterloo Bridge, which leads to The Strand and
Fleet Street, you'll see Westminster Abbey and
Big Ben if you look one way along the river, and
St Paul's Cathedral if you look the other.
Walking along The Embankment, there are many
lampposts and statues which echo an oceanic
theme. The lampposts show fish entwined
around them. There are also wrought iron
park benches set higher than the pavement
where lovers have always sat to watch the
Thames.
