Docklands Light Railway has a lot more to offer in addition to being the most reliable and efficient way to get around Docklands and Greenwich. It’s an attraction in itself, offering a fantastic ride for all the family.

The fully automated trains are driverless, so grab the front seats for the best views. Running on elevated track, many liken DLR to a roller coaster ride as the train climbs and swoops its way through Docklands to Greenwich. Hop on and off as much as you like with a Travel card

DLR provides stunning views of Docklands, especially the Canary Wharf development, which is changing dramatically week by week. Stop off for the latest shops, restaurants and cafι’s.

Trace the rich, diverse history of Docklands at the new Museum in Docklands, which is due to open this summer at West India Quay. Then alight at Crossharbour & London Arena for a walk around the docks.

Mudchute Park and Farm offers acres of open space to let off steam and get close up to the farm animals. Horse riding is available by appointment.

Savor the view of Greenwich from Island Gardens before hopping back onto the train to be whisked under the river to Cutty Sark, Greenwich Park and the National Maritime Museum, which now offers free entry.

For a day out with a difference, relax by the dock at Royal Albert to watch the planes taking off and landing at City Airport.

DLR operates 7 days a week until 00.30 Monday – Saturday and 23.30 on Sundays. DLR connects with the Underground at Bank, Tower Hill and Stratford and Connex at Lewisham and Greenwich.
